happy DayAfterLeapYear Day!

Well that's what it is, isn't it? :) Time is marching on. I'm encapsuled in an electric blanket with three purring cats this morning, coddling a sore throat. They're calling for 10-15 centimeters of snow, and it's already started. I love the snow, but I don't like the rain they're calling for after the snow. What a mess. The temps have been yo-yo'ing like this all winter. It's enough to drive one mad. It's the perfect kind of day to stay inside and make books, and sort through my BBC period-drama collection!

It's been a mad house around here. I've been inundated with custom journal orders lately...twelve to be exact! I'm certainly not complaining - it's a good thing, and I always have fun making that one-of-a-kind book for someone. I just find it odd that they almost always all come at the same time. hehe! Never ceases to amaze me!

I'm also preparing a few more journals to be sent away to be sold at a lovely little online boutique: La Vie En Rose Boutique. The owner is a lovely person...I'm really looking forward to working with her.

I've started to use some heavy-duty brown oilskin...I really like it's thickness (very durable) and it's weathered look. This one's blank for someone who prefers a journal with no quote page. It's available at my etsy shop.

Last week I also made some new soaps...another batch of my best seller, Lavender & Oatmeal, but also a new scent combination: Lime & Ginger (which is now my favourite!) as well Citrus with Lemon Peel for extra exfoliation. Really nice bars. After a lot of trial and error, I've finally settled on one recipe that I will be using for ALL of my soaps. I just LOVE it - it's so creamy, rich and moisturizing, and the lather is just right!

  2. I'm sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. The journal in your post looks absolutely gorgeous. Speaking of BBC dramas...which version of Wuthering Heights would you recommend? I recently read the book...Take care, from irritatingly sunny Melbourne. :)

  3. I'm feeling a little bit better today, Susannah...thankfully the sun is out today and that does a world of good - we haven't seen it for so long! It's been raining and snowing and just all around gloomy this winter. Blech!

Thanks for your kind words about the journal. :)

BBC Dramas -- I really fancy the 1992 version with Juliette Binoche and Ralph Fiennes; however, the others are also very good too.

  4. I can't wait for payday. One of your journals is going to travel over the Atlantic :)

  5. Thank you so much Katie! :)

Also if you don't see anything you like in the shop I can make one custom for you.

Keep in mind that shipping to Europe takes approx. 4-8 weeks, without upgraded shipping, due to the strict customs checks -- but they do make it! :)

  6. When I do get something I'll make sure to pay priority shipping. I'm too impatient to wait so long :)

  7. Hmm...priority shipping from CanadaPost isn't exactly inexpensive, but like you said, it would definitely get to you sooner. :)
